8 Photography Podcasts

Ayup! Here are eight photography podcasts I absolutely love. Although audio content is highly subjective and personal, I’m hopeful you’ll find something here, too. Tonnes of motivation, ideas and thought-provoking conversations await…

I’m ashamed to say that these are all by male photographers/hosts. Not purposely or intentionally, simply because that’s what’s available. Over on Mastodon, I reached out to see if the balance could be restored. It couldn’t, but I did get one cracking recommendation:

That said, many of the interviewees below are acclaimed, professional female photographers. In that respect, there’s a decent mix to enjoy.

The Photography Podcasts I Listen to Religiously

The following podcasts keep me company while I’m out walking. Each show offers something to ponder over and absorb into your own practice. Most are interview-based; others are more conversational, and The Photowalk, well, that’s in a whole league of its own.

What I truly appreciate is when art, creativity, psychology, mindfulness, and mental health cross over into the conversation. Thankfully, this happens quite often. All angles, all perspectives.

Lifelong Learning

Photography podcasts are an incredible source of inspiration and education. Being able to play them while doing something else also makes the format super convenient.

In fact, I sometimes think we take all of this for granted. Highly regarded photographers sharing their stories at the touch of a button. This level of wisdom and knowledge wouldn’t have been as easily accessible 25 years ago.

Lovely! Hands down one of my favourite ways to learn.
